The Organising Committee of Guimarães 2019 is excited to introduce a new kind of exciting competition in an IABSE Symposium, the ‘IABSE Tank.’ This competition aims to bridge the gap between the innovative and creative engineers and investors in the industry searching for something new. On stage, the candidates either an individual or a team will propose their new ideas applicable to structural engineering (e.g. innovative products, materials, techniques, software, services, etc.) to 5 investors. The investors will/can decide on the spot if they are interested with the idea. If more than one investor has interest, the participant/team will choose one of the investors committing to discuss further co-operation. This is not a game, but a real opportunity for both investors and innovators to meet and start a real business partnership.
