IABSE Conference Bath, April 19-20, 2017
‘Creativity and Collaboration –
Instilling Imagination and Innovation in Structural Design’
IABSE is organising what promises to be a really exciting Conference: ‘Creativity and Collaboration – instilling imagination and innovation in structural design’, to be held from April 19-20, 2017, at Bath University, UK.
The focus will be on conceptual design, creativity, innovation and collaboration in the design process. Participants will engage in discussing issues which fundamentally affect the quality of the buildings and structures we build around us. The technical programme will comprise plenary sessions, parallel sessions and design workshops. The plenary sessions will include keynote lectures by invited speakers related to the theme of the conference.
Tim Ibell, Professor and Associate Dean (Research) for the Faculty of Engineering and Design at University of Bath.
Kristina Shea, Professor for Engineering Design and Computing at ETH Zürich.
The parallel sessions will be lecture and seminar format sessions. In addition, there will be a series of practical, creative design workshops. These will offer delegates the opportunity to participate and interact in small groups facilitated by established designers and practitioners. The workshops will incorporate aspects of online collaborative working and data sharing with our international partners in South Africa and elsewhere.
This event will appeal to engineers, architects, planners, educators, researchers and all those concerned about achieving innovation and improving creativity in design for the built environment.
Early Bird registration fees are offered until March 1, 2017.
