Mission Statement/Objectives

Holistic approach to all aspects related to fires, their impact and performance-based design concept.

Scope & Limitation

The goal of the new Task Group is to address:

• Type of fire (combustible loads, fire seize/growth/characteristics, toxic fumes and gases, etc.…),
• Fire fighting (firemen, sprinklers, etc.…),
• Safety of people (evacuation, safe havens, ventilation, etc.…),
• Security of structures (type and vulnerability, performance, protection, etc.….),
• Risks and mitigation measures, etc.

Interaction with TG1.2 Design of Bridges against Fire Hazard

Expected Project Output

Main output: 1 final document SED bulletin.

In addition: internal / external workshops / special sessions/ webinars/ articles/ or similar on the topic of Fire Engineering and Performance based design concept
