Mission Statement/Objectives

What will be valuable to bridge owners is through various activities, for them to know that TG4.2 exist and is dedicated to promote "ABC".

Scope and Limitation

1. Define ABC and how it is practiced around the countries
2. Identify documents worldwide and dedicated to ABC. As an example in U.S. we have several documents assisting bridge owners to make decisions when ABC should be selected as form of construction and different forms of ABC technologies.
3. Identifying bridge design and construction practices around the world that could fall under "general" definition of ABC. What is generally called "ABC" in reality is form of bridge construction where most or part of the bridge construction activities are performed away from bridge site to reduce interruption to traffic. The total construction time is equal or even more than conventional construction type.
4. Assessing where possible performance of bridges constructed using "ABC" philosophy
5. Provide case studies

Expected Project Output

1. Organize technical sessions and international workshops on ABC.

2. Connect with organizations worldwide and active in "ABC" area.
