NATIONAL GROUP EVENTS

The 3rd IABSE Young Engineers Colloquium in East Asia                  

January 19-20, 2024, Seoul, Korea. Organized by the Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Hong Kong Group of IABSE

Young engineers in any country can make presentations and participate in the design competition.
Not only young engineers but also senior engineers are expected to participate in this colloquium and are welcome. Registration fee is 160,000 KRW (About 120 USD).

This registration fee includes proceedings, lunch and the colloquium dinner. Please submit the application form by November 3rd 2023 via each national group of IABSE and register online (website address tba) before December 22nd 2023.

ASBI has invited IABSE-US NG chaired by Mariagrazia Bruschi to participate in the Opening of the General Session on Monday, to introduce IABSE to the Convention attendees (click here for more information).

Presence at final year thesis day 

 January 9  United States IABSE-US NG has secured a slot to make a presentation to the Bridge Construction Committee at the TRB Annual Meeting, which will take place Tuesday, January 9, 1:30PM - 5:30PM in Washington, DC. If you are interested in presenting a relevant topic at this meeting, please contact Chiara Rosignoli at crosignoli@hardestyhanover.com. A social event will also be planned for IABSE members attending the Annual Meeting. More information to follow.

General programs:

  • Technical webinars every Thursday at 17.30hrs CET (French NG)
  • BST Initiative (Bridges for Social Transformation) webinars connecting university students and IABSE experts (Colombian NG)
  • Annual IABSE BG NG award and National competition "Kolyu Ficheto" for the best diploma thesis in the field of "Civil Engineering", organized by the Bulgarian Scientific and Technical Union of Civil Engineering (Bulgarian NG)
  • Linking IABSE members to advise student teams in the “Engineers in Action” initiative, designing and building pedestrian bridges in developing countries, virtual conference for young members and students. (tbc, Canadian NG)
  • Encourage the development of IABSE “hubs” in the Vancouver and Greater Toronto regions (Canadian NG)
  • Three-Four Webinars – March, May, September, November (Austrian NG)
  • Test case: IABSE Austrian Webinars and combined project work together with the students of the study program KTWW of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna; one meeting/presentation in personal instead of one webinar combined with social-event (Austrian NG).
