20th International Symposium of MASE

The Macedonian Association of Structural Engineers (MASE) hosted the 20th MASE International Symposium on Resilient Structures in Skopje from 28-29 September 2023. The event was organised in collaboration with the newly formed North Macedonian group of IABSE, chaired by Prof. Darko Nakob.

Dr Tina Vejrum, President of IABSE, delivered a Keynote Lecture. The technical presentations were very well received. A valuable event outcome was the inclusion of two Macedonian earthquake engineering community members in IABSE’s new Task Group for Earthquake Emergency Response. See the group photo below.

2022

The first annual meeting of Macedonian National Group of IABSE was held on 22.12.2022 in Skopje, North Macedonia. There were 6 people present at the meeting, all being members of the International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE).

The meeting then proceeded with the official election. Upon nominations, the following functions were elected, to serve for the following year and until their successors are elected:

Chair: Assoc. Prof. Darko Nakov, PhD
Vice-Chair: Assoc. Prof. Denis Popovski, PhD
Secretary: Assist. Marija Docevska, MSc
