IABSE Congress New Delhi 2023 (ePDF) Engineering for Sustainable Development As the world population grows and the impact of climate change becomes more severe, the demand for sustainable buildings and infrastructure has also increased. Moreover, durable and resilient structures are crucial aspects of sustainable construction. The resilient and durable structures which can withstand the vagaries of natural disasters reduce the need for frequent interventions of repairs and replacements, thereby reducing the resources required for maintenance. To crystalise the way forward in the construction industry, The Indian National Group of The International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (ING-IABSE) has hosted this International Congress, on the theme “Engineering for Sustainable Development” in New Delhi on September 20-22, 2023. We are pleased to present the Proceedings Report of Full Papers that have undergone a rigorous review process by the members of the scientific committee from more than 35 countries. The Congress Proceedings include more than 188 papers that have passed stringent scrutiny out of nearly 500 submitted abstracts, which were presented in six parallel halls aggregating 35 sessions during the Congress. In addition, there were eight Keynote Lectures by eminent academicians, engineers and Government functionaries, of which six are included in the Proceedings. We would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all the session speakers, and convey our special thanks to the Keynote speakers for their invaluable contribution and knowledge sharing.
