Project Description:

The project is located in Optics Valley Central City. Featuring a main span of 100m and double towers, it has concise and lightweight girder structure in an innovative "rail-beam integration" design. Its graceful towers, girder, and high-tech infused trains blend harmoniously into an iconic structure representing the "City of Light."

Judges Comments

The new twin-track elevated suspended monorail system in Wuhan City involves a 100m cable stayed span over Gaoxin Avenue supported from distinctive curved pylons. The two tracks comprise stiff box girders designed to strict deflection tolerances and separated by 5.8m. For the cable stayed span these are joined by a girder with large oval openings. These lighten the structure and also help to control aerodymanic responses in conjunction with the use of TMDs.
