A large cable-stayed bridge with a 760m main span. The side spans are earth-anchored, fixed to large concrete abutments set into the side of the reservoir, resulting in a single movement joint at midspan which has been designed as a unique composite sliding-telescopic tenon connection. It is the world’s longest earth-anchored cable stayed bridge. The lightweight steel-UHPC composite deck girder is supported from 200m tall concrete towers which dominate the landscape for miles around.
