Project Description:

The Sabiñánigo Viaduct is not merely an infrastructure project; it is a laboratory of innovation where the laws of scale in bridge construction were challenged. Grupo Tecozam’s ability to transform an environmental and geographic challenge into a world-record-breaking opportunity positions this project as the ideal candidate for the IABSE Project and Technology Award 2026.

Judges Comments

This project achieves three world records: the largest span ever executed with an underslung MSS (90 metres), the longest end-span from an abutment and a record sequence of nine consecutive 90 metre spans. Through the innovative use of MSS Zamora II, the contractor redefined long-span engineering with peak efficiency and sustainability.
