Project Description:

The projected La Defense station footprint is directly below the shallow foundations of the iconic exhibition hall (named CNIT) constructed in the 1980s. This construction has been carried out in several stages (Temporary transfer of the existing columns to a temporary support structure; construction and transfer on definitive supports and construction of the station in "mole" method.

The new La Défense station footprint is directly below the shallow foundations of the iconic exhibition hall (named CNIT) which was constructed in the 1980s. This highly complex project has been carried out in several stages involving careful transfer of the existing column loads onto a temporary support structure, construction of and transfer onto the permanent supports and construction of the station using "mole" tunnelling methods.
