Project Description:

The 31st Universiade in 2023 has held in the professional football field of Chengdu Phoenix Mountain Football Stadium. The roof covering materials are ETFE membrane materials in the inner ring area and metal materials in the outer ring area. The stadium successfully used cable domes structure in non-closed roof.

Judges Comments

This stadium uses ETFE membrane as the roofing material in the inner ring area, and the roof is a lightweight and elegant solution to the challenge of covering a large space. The inner ring rigid truss cable dome structure uses tension rods as the main load-bearing components, fully utilizing their high-strength material characteristics, greatly reducing the weight of the main structure and economically achieving the required large spans.
