This historic building is among the few surviving grand railway stations from the early 20th century and has undergone a substantial renovation to restore and upgrade it to suit its new role as an innovation hub for the Ford Motor Company. Important features have been retained, including the three famous terra cotta Guastavino vaults which span over the old waiting room, and new spaces have been introduced. Close collaboration between designer and contractor was necessary to respond to discoveries of the structural condition as the works progressed.
