Project Description:

Judges Comments

This bridge plays a key role in generating new investments and jobs, boosting tourism, trade and movement of goods to enable the development of this part of Africa. Crossing the Okavango River close to its famous and unique inland estuary, the bridge has a cable-stayed main span of 200m, with steel-composite girders, supported from 43m high steel towers shaped like a pair of elephant tusks, recognising the notable conservation success for Botswana’s African elephants.
